Tecno has brought the Pova 8 Pro to India, and this time the brand isn’t just chasing battery size and refresh rate numbers, it’s pricing the phone like it belongs in the premium mid-range fight. The Pova 8 Pro leans on its 144Hz HyperLux AMOLED panel, a dedicated P1 Graphic Chip for frame interpolation, and a rear Alive Matrix Display to stand out, but at nearly ₹50,000, it’s now walking into the premium segment. Tecno Pova 8 Pro Pricing and Availability
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro starts at ₹49,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The 12GB + 512GB model is priced at ₹54,999. Both variants are eligible for a flat ₹3,000 bank discount, making the effective price ₹46,999. The phone comes in Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green. Sales begin August 21.

The Pova 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1208 x 2644 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 2,800Hz instantaneous touch sampling, and up to 4,500 nits HBM brightness. The panel has a 19.6987:9 aspect ratio and 429 PPI.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate, paired with LPDDR5X RAM. The 8GB variant can be expanded to 16GB using virtual RAM, while the 12GB model can reach 24GB. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB UFS 2.2, with no microSD card support.
For cameras, the Pova 8 Pro has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C primary sensor with autofocus and an 8MP wide-angle camera with autofocus. The front camera is a 13MP fixed-focus unit with an f/2.2 aperture. Both the front and rear cameras (not the ultra-wide) support 4K30 video recording.
The phone packs a 6,500 mAh battery with 45W charging, with a 45W charger included in the box. It measures 162.48 x 77.27 x 7.39mm and weighs 189g. The device runs on HiOS 16 based on Android 16, and Tecno promises 2 OS updates plus 3 years of security updates.

Alive Matrix Display

The Pova 8 Pro enters a price segment with several established options. The OPPO Reno 16c starts at ₹46,999 and uses the Dimensity 7300, while its ₹49,999 8GB + 256GB variant matches the Pova 8 Pro’s starting configuration.
The Reno 16c also has a 50MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide, and 50MP 3.5X telephoto camera. It packs a 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging, and faster UFS 3.1 storage.
The OnePlus 13s starts at ₹54,999 for 12GB + 256GB and uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It has a 6.32-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, 80W charging, a 50MP main camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera.
The Xiaomi 17T starts at ₹59,999 for 12GB + 256GB. It uses the Dimensity 8500-Ultra and has a 50MP main camera, 50MP 5X periscope telephoto, 12MP ultrawide, and a 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 67W charging. The number of OS updates promised is also higher for all these devices.
