Tata Motors cars and other passenger vehicles to cost more in India

Tata Motors has increased the price of its passenger car portfolio in India. The rising cost of input material has led the indigenous maker to raise the price of both electric vehicles and ICE-engine cars. This is the second time in 2022 that the manufacturer has hiked the price of its vehicles in the country.

Previously, Maruti Suzuki had also announced to implement the price incrementation on the cars for the Indian market citing the same reason. Nevertheless, let’s get into the details new Tata Motors pricing.

Tata Motor Cars Price Hiked

To tackle the rising problem of input cost, Tata Motors has hiked the prices of its cars and other passenger vehicle models by at least 1.1%. The new pricing scheme is applicable from April 23. But to give relief to the customers who have booked their Tata vehicles earlier to April 23, old prices will be charged to them.

Earlier, the company had implemented an increase in prices of passenger cars back in January this year with a hike of 0.9 per cent. But Tata Motors had also decreased the prices of specific models by up to Rs 10,000. For commercial vehicles, Tata Motors had previously increased the prices by 2 to 2.5 per cent which was implemented across the country from April 1.

In another news, the company is gearing to host a launch event on April 29 and it is anticipated to be the arrival of the Nexon EV long-range variant.

While the details about the upcoming Nexon EV are not yet revealed, the electric car has been spotted on Indian roads for testing. Though the long-range variant of Nexon EV is said to pack a 40kW battery to offer up to 400km of distance range on a single charge. It could be priced between Rs 16 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. The current Nexon EV is selling from Rs 14.54 lakh onwards.
