Sony Xperia XZ4 rumors running in full steam. If reports are to be believed the XZ4 launch is just around the corner. What further fueled this speculation is Sony’s recent roll of press invites for the February 25th event at MWC 2019. Will Sony be able to finally have its renaissance at the mobile tradeshow of the year with its new flagship? Let’s dissect the rumors and leaks so far to present you with everything we know so far about this phone.

Sony Xperia XZ4 Expected Features

Sony, a Japanese conglomerate has been struggling with its diminishing smartphone sales numbers. There have been rumors that suggesting the company’s plans to wind up of smartphone division. Though these claims can’t be testified, Sony’s presence at MWC 2019 means it’s probably not an end of Sony’s Xperia phones.

Talking about the Xperia XZ4 rumors, the onset of design renders suggest that it will flaunt a 6.5inch OLED display with a novel 21:9 aspect ratio and 3360×1440 resolution. This tall display would bring many eyes to this new Sony smartphone. However, from the leaks, it seems the company is adamant on retaining the bezels. For what its worth, Sony’s craftsmanship could come up with an elegant industrial design.

The next wow-factor to this phone would be its never-before-seen 52MP rear shooter with f/1.6 aperture. This would be accompanied by a 16MP telephoto sensor with an f/2.6 aperture lens, and lastly at the bottom is a 0.3MP ToF sensor with an f/1.4. Sony camera features Videography at 4K UltraHD mode, 960FPS Ultra Slomo mode, AR features, et al. We expect the 52MP camera to incorporate the pixel-binning technology like many other phones with huge pixel count.

Under the hood, the phone or at least one of its variants would be helmed by Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable through a microSD likely up to 512GB). Popular benchmark test scores like Antutu and Geekbench has already surfaced in the web.

The score of 395K tops the prevailing high score of 360K (also from Snapdragon 855 SOC) Regardless to say that it also ranks higher than the Huawei Kirin 980’s 270K and Apple A12 Bionic’s 350K scores.

This leak was soon followed by another trusted test score, ie., Geekbench.

Now, from this Geekbench leak, the alleged scores of Sony Xperia XZ4 looks impressive. The single-core performance falls behind the Apple Bionic A12’s score. But in the multi-core tests, the device slaughters the competitors like the A12 Bionic chip from Apple and Huawei’s Kirin 980 chipset.

It’s a no-brainer that the phone would be running on the Android Pie out of the box. Last year’s XZ3 lacked the Pie’s native navigation gestures. Instead, it had the gimmicky Side Sense feature. We would love a change in the software experience this time around.

Sony Xperia XZ4 could be fueled by a 4,400mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charge. The high-end phone could feature a 46.5W fast wired charging, USB PD, and Qi wireless charging. Finally, the oncoming Sony phone could flaunt in Deep Purple Colour along with Black, Silver, and Blue color options.

Apart from the Sony Xperia XZ4 flagship lineup, the brand is also likely to showcase the Xperia XA3 and the Xperia XA3 Ultra.
