Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Chipset phones: Best Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 phones expected to launch in 2024

In March 2023, chipmaker Qualcomm announced the second chipset in the Snapdragon 7 Series. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC claims to offer updates in terms of CPU, GPU, AI, Imaging, and other efficiency performance. The chipset is expected to power mid-budget devices from brands like Poco, Realme, Xiaomi, and Motorola.

Before we list the smartphones expected to arrive with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, let us first have a look at the main features of the chipset.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: Features/Specs

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is powered by a Kryo CPU that gives a 2.49GHz clock speed (50% higher than its predecessor). It includes 3 Arm Cortex A710 performance cores, one Arm Cortex X2 core clocked at 2.91GHz, and 4 Arm Cortex A510s efficiency cores at 1.8GHz. Paired with this CPU is an Adreno GPU that Qualcomm claims will give 2 times the graphics performance as compared to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

For gaming, the chipset comes with Snapdragon Elite Gaming features like VRS, Snapdragon Sound, and aptX for lag-free audio. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 packs a Snapdragon X62 modem for high download speeds along with Qualcomm AI Engine offering 200% better performance than the Snapdragon Gen 1 SoC.

For camera performance, it has an 18-bit triple camera ISP that can capture 30 images and merge them for better low-light images and a maximum 200MP resolution.

Smartphones Rumored to arrive with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset

1. Poco F5

Poco became the first brand to launch a smartphone powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. Poco F5 launched in 2023 was powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC and sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 64MP main camera setup at the back and a 5000mAh battery with 67W charging capability. Poco F5 comes in Carbon Black, Sandstorm White, and Electric Blue shades and currently retails in India for Rs. 26,999 via Flipkart.

2. Realme GT Neo 5 SE

Realme GT Neo 5 SE was launched in China with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. It has a huge 6.74-inch 144Hz AMOLED panel and a 16MP selfie snapper on top. At the back is a 64MP+8MP+2MP camera setup and under the hood is a 5500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging. The smartphone runs Android 13 OS out of the box. It might launch in India in 2024 with the same or rebranded name.  

3. Redmi Note 12 Turbo

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 12 Turbo in home markets with a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. It has a 6.67-inch OLED panel and a 64MP+8MP+2MP camera setup at the back. Most of its specs are similar to the Poco F5, so the chances of this one coming to India are slim. It has the same 5000mAh battery with 67W charging.

4. Moto Razr 50

Moto Razr 50, the next-generation flip phone from Motorola is rumored to feature Snapdragon 7+ Gen SoC. The smartphone will reportedly pair the chipset with 8GB RAM and sport a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel at the front. Under the hood might be a 4200mAh battery with 44W charging. The Foldable is said to feature a 64MP+13MP+2MP camera setup at the back and a 32MP sensor at the front.

5. Nokia 7610 5G

Nokia is also expected to launch a 5G smartphone with the new chipset. The Nokia 7610 5G might be powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC and have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. In terms of display, it might sport a 6.67-inch HD panel and under the hood draw juice from a 4500mAh battery with 44W charging. The smartphone is rumored to have a 108MP+13MP+2MP camera setup at the back and the front might be a 32MP selfie lens.

6. iQOO Z9

iQOO Z9 which will launch in 2024 is said to pack a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset under the hood. Paired up will be 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. At the front will be a 6.67-inch display with a 16MP selfie lens at the top and powering the device might be a large 5000mAh battery with 45W charging. In terms of the camera, there will be a 64MP+8MP+2MP rear setup.
