April saw quite a few major smartphone launches in the form of the Asus ROG Phone 7 Series, Realme Narzo N55, Vivo Foldables, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and more. April has not gone by, but the smartphones expected in May 2023 have already started making news on the web. May 2023 will see the Google I/O 2023 wherein Google might launch Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold. Realme might launch its next number series, while OnePlus has plans of its own. Here is a list of the major smartphones expected to launch in May 2023 in India.

1. Google Pixel 7a

The 3rd member of the Pixel 7 Series is all set to arrive in May 2023. The Google Pixel 7a will launch globally on May 10 during Google I/O 2023. It will be a mid-ranger that will come with minor upgrades over Pixel 6a that came out last year. The speculations are rife that Pixel 7a will come with a bigger battery, 90Hz refresh rate display panel, and Google’s next generation Tensor chipset along with a better rear camera setup.

The price is also expected to be slightly hyped than the Google Pixel 6a, especially in India. Pixel 6a was launched in India for Rs. 43,999, Pixel 7a might be priced slightly above its predecessor. Currently, Pixel 6a is retailing via Flipkart for Rs. 28,999.

2. Realme 11 Pro, Realme 11 Pro+

Realme is working on bringing its next number series, the Realme 11 Series. The Realme 11 Series will include Realme 11 Pro & Realme 11 Pro+ which might be launched in May 2023. The new mid-range number series phones will be powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 7000 chipset under the hood. The Pro+ variant is also rumored to feature a 200MP primary camera at the back.

Otherwise, the handset might sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, a 16MP front camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 80W or 100W fast charging capability. The Realme 11 Pro might sport a 108MP camera setup and pack a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

3. Pixel Fold

The foldable market is on an all-time rise. There are various good options available in terms of foldables and the next to join the list will be Google Pixel Fold. Google has been preparing to enter this territory for a while now and the brand might just make its first leap in foldables with Google Pixel Fold being showcased during the Google I/O event on May 10.

If reports are to be believed, Google Pixel Fold will sport a 5.8-inch display when folded and a 7.6-inch screen when unfolded. The foldable will be powered by Google Tensor G2 chipset and will be priced at around Rs. 1,40,000 in India.

4. OnePlus Nord 3

OnePlus Pad is about to go on sale in India very soon. But post that, the brand plans to launch OnePlus Nord 3 in late May or early June. It will be a mid-range 5G smartphone that was first expected to launch in 2022. The original successor to the Nord 2 is expected to arrive in the near future with better specs. The OnePlus Nord 3 might come with a 4500/5000mAh battery and offer 100W fast charging tech. It will have an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. There might be a triple camera setup at the back with support for OIS and the ability to record 4K videos.

5. Poco F5

Poco has confirmed that the Poco F5 Series is launching globally on the 9th of May. The brand has also made it official that Poco F5 will come to India on the same day as the global launch. Poco has revealed some key specs of the device as well. According to the company, Poco F5 will be powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset and have a triple camera setup at the back. Reports claim that Poco F5 will sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and pack a 5000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. Poco F5 is expected to be priced between Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 30,000.

6. Samsung Galaxy F54

Samsung is expected to launch a mid-ranger in India this month. The Samsung Galaxy F54 5G might come to the country in May as it is already available in the global market. The Galaxy F54 might be powered by Samsung Exynos 1380 chipset, featuring a 108MP primary camera, sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED 120Hz display, pack a 6000mAh battery, and more.

7. Vivo S16

Tech giant Vivo might also launch a mid-ranger, namely the Vivo S16 this month. The Vivo S16 will be priced at around Rs. 26,690 and is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 8GB RAM. The S16 is said to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 64MP camera setup at the back, a 50MP camera at the front, and a 4600mAh battery under the hood.

8. Oppo A1 Pro

Oppo A1 Pro is said to be a budget smartphone that will have a price tag of around Rs. 20,500. Reports claim that the Oppo A1 Pro will have a 6.7-inch OLED screen, 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 695 chipset, 8GB RAM, 108MP camera setup at the back, 16MP selfie camera, and a 4800mAh battery under the hood.

9. Realme GT Neo 5 5G

The next in the GT Neo series might be launched in May 2023. Realme GT Neo 5 5G is expected to be priced around Rs. 31,500 and draw power from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with 8GB RAM. The smartphone is said to have a 50MP camera setup at the back, a 16MP lens at the front, a 5000mAh battery, and a 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.
