Phones to Watch Out for in 2024: Future Smartphones Expected to Launch Next Year

Smartphone is no longer a tool that helps you make and receive calls. It has become a way of life. From official work to capturing memories, smartphones are our companions in every realm of life. 2023 saw leading brands launching every kind of smartphone. There is something for every consumer, from foldables to flip phones, from 5G devices to flagships. 2024 is expected to take this technological revolution to the next level. With AI slowly becoming the way of life, brands like Google, and Samsung are planning to load AI capabilities in smartphones. Apple too is planning to bring new updates to the flagship iPhone 16 Series.

In this article, we have summarized all the major smartphones that brands like Samsung, Realme, Xiaomi, Apple, Nothing etc. will launch in 2024. Some of these are confirmed, while some are rumored as of now. Dive in to know what 2024 will bring for tech enthusiasts.

1. Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Series

The year 2024 will begin with Xiaomi launching the Redmi Note 13 Series. The Redmi Note 13 Series will include 3 smartphones- Redmi Note 13, Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro+. It will launch on January 4 in India. The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus and Redmi Note 13 Pro feature 6.67-inch AMOLED displays. The Pro Plus model will be powered by Dimensity 7200 Ultra while the Pro model will feature Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. The design and other specs of the 3 models launching in India will be similar to those of Chinese models. Details about pricing will be announced on January 4, 2024.

2. Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung will hold a Galaxy Unpacked Event on January 17 wherein it will announce the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series for all the markets. The series will include 3 models like the past few years- Samsung Galaxy S24, Samsung Galaxy S24+, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. The smartphones will use Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 chipsets depending upon the region. All 3 will run Android 14 with One UI 6.1 which is expected to roll out various AI features. The Galaxy S24 Series will support satellite connectivity and might be made of Titanium. Price and availability will be known when the devices launch next month.

3. Apple iPhone 16 Series

Apple iPhone series launch is one of the most anticipated tech events of the year. In 2024, Apple will announce the iPhone 16 Series in September/October like every year. The iPhone 16 series is expected to have 4 smartphones- iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus/Max, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The 16th generation iPhones will be powered by A18 Bionic chipset and run IOS 18 with various new features. There might be a dedicated video button likely to be called ‘Capture Button’ and the Action Button will be available on all 4 iPhone 16 models. It is still very early to conclude what new Apple will bring this year. More will be known as months go by.

4. Vivo X100 Series

Vivo has started teasing the launch of its X100 Series in India. Known for its unique design and photography prowess, the Vivo X100 Series will include 2 variants- Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro. Reports claim that Vivo will launch this series in India in January 2024, though the exact date is still unknown. Both the smartphones in this series feature a triple camera setup at the back and a Vivo V3 chip for better photography. Vivo has continued its partnership with Zeiss so that it offers the best imaging capabilities with the X100 Series. Both the devices are IP68 rated and powered by Dimensity 9300 SoC.

5. Oppo Reno 11 Series

Like Vivo’s X Series is meant for photographers, Oppo intends to do the same with the Reno Series. Oppo Reno 11 Series has already been launched in China and like every year, it will come to India later in 2024. The series will most probably include Oppo Reno 11, Oppo Reno 11 Pro, and Oppo Reno 11 Pro Plus smartphones. The Reno 11 series will run Android 14 OS with 50MP main camera sensors at the back. At the front will be curved AMOLED displays and RAM+ROM configurations will be up to 12GB+512GB. In China, Oppo has launched these devices in Turquoise Green, Obsidian Black, and Moonstone colors.

6. Realme 12 & Realme 12 Pro Series

Realme’s Pro Number Series is also one of the most anticipated launches of 2024. Realme will soon launch the Realme 12 Series in the global markets. It will include the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro Plus 5G. The devices were seen on the TDRA website recently which means they will have 5G connectivity. The series was also seen on the BIS certification website which means the Realme 12 Series will come to India also very soon. The smartphones are expected to have the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. Realme is also planning to launch Realme 12 4G & 5G models.

7. Google Pixel 9 Series

Google Pixel 9 is Rumored to Feature a Larger Display

Like every year, Google will launch the Google Pixel 9 Series including Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro smartphones. Google Pixel 9 Series is expected to be among the first Android devices to have Qi2 charging. The newest Pixels will be powered by Tensor G4 chipset and run Android 14 out of the box. Pixel 9 Series is also expected to get some hardware improvements in terms of camera though the design of the smartphones will be similar to predecessors.

8. OnePlus 12

OnePlus 12 launch event ticket sales

OnePlus has confirmed that it will launch the OnePlus 12 smartphone in India on 23rd January 2024. Since it has already been launched in China, we know that OnePlus 12 will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and pack a 5400mAh battery under the hood. It will have 100W charging support and feature a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED display panel with 120Hz refresh rate. The chipset will be paired with up to 24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. The flagship from OnePlus is one of the most awaited launches of 2024.

9. OnePlus 12R

Alongside the OnePlus 12 will launch the OnePlus 12R. The affordable smartphone from OnePlus is expected to have a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel and sport a 50MP+8MP+32MP camera setup at the back. It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and is said to be a rebrand of the OnePlus Ace 3 that is available in China.

10. iPhone SE 4

Apart from the iPhone 16 Series, Apple is expected to come up with the iPhone SE 4 in 2024. It will be the smallest Apple device with a display of 4.7 inches, a Touch ID, and a Home Button. The iPhone SE 4 will feature USB-C charging and have a dual-lens camera setup at the back. The main camera might be 48MP. The budget iPhone is said to be powered by A15 chipset and also offers 5G connectivity. Under the hood will be a 3279mAh battery with proprietary fast charging.

11. Nothing Phone 3

Nothing Phone (2a) Design Tipped, Powered by Dimensity 7200 SoC

Carl Pei’s Nothing will launch the 3rd generation flagship in 2024. Nothing revolutionized the smartphone industry when it launched Nothing Phone 1 in 2022 as it had a unique design and top-of-the-line specs. Nothing Phone 3 is expected to arrive in the first half of 2024 and will face more upgrades over Nothing Phone 2. Nothing Phone 3 will have the signature transparent back panel with glyph lights inclusion. It will focus on LED strips for notifications, making it more aesthetic and premium. The 3rd generation device is likely to be powered by the latest Snapdragon device and has a triple camera setup at the back.

12. Nothing Phone 2a

In 2024, Nothing is expected to launch a more affordable smartphone namely the Nothing Phone 2a. Nothing Phone 2a is said to be the cheaper version of Nothing Phone 2. Tipster Yogesh Brar has shared some specs of the affordable Nothing smartphone. It is said to be announced during the MWC 2024 in February and renders claim it will have a redesigned back panel to differentiate it from flagship devices. According to the tipster, Nothing Phone 2a will have a Dimensity chipset, 120Hz OLED panel, Nothing OS 2.0, 50MP back camera, and more.

13. Xiaomi 14 Series

Xiaomi 14 Ultra May Debut in Q1 Next Year, Possibly Featuring the Sony LYT-900 Sensor

Xiaomi 14 Series has gone official in China and is expected to arrive in India soon. Including the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro smartphones, the series was seen getting BIS certification a few days ago thus hinting at an India launch soon. Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets and feature LTPO displays. The smartphones will run HyperOS based on Android 14 and feature 50MP camera setups at the back. The series will launch in India in the first half of 2024.

14. Oppo Find X7 Series

Oppo Find X7 Pro

Oppo has already started teasing the Find X7 Series globally. The series is known for its camera capabilities and unique design language. The Find X7 Series includes the Oppo Find X7, Oppo Find X7 Pro, and Oppo Find X7 Ultra. The series is confirmed to feature a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 camera sensor that will give a better low-light performance. All the Find X7 Series will pack 5000mAh batteries and 100W wired fast charging support. Wireless charging will also be available. The Ultra model might feature a 6.82-inch LTPO display with a 2K resolution and 3168×1440 pixels.
