Samsung India has launched a new feature for personalized cooling in its AI-Powered Bespoke Windfree Room Air Conditioners. This feature integrates with Smart Things-compatible fans and switches, enhancing comfort while promoting energy savings. Specifically tailored for the Indian market, it aims to help households cope with the intense summer heat. The system maintains a stable temperature without requiring frequent manual adjustments, thereby optimizing energy efficiency.

ACs will Work with Fans Now: How will it be possible?

In a recent study, Samsung discovered that nearly 50% of households in India utilize both air conditioners and fans at night, often switching them on and off for optimal comfort. This practice not only disrupts sleep but also leads to higher electricity consumption. To address this issue, Samsung is introducing a fully automated, AI-driven cooling solution designed to create a more comfortable room environment.

The SmartThings-powered system will continuously monitor the conditions within the room and automatically adjust the settings of both the fan and air conditioner. For instance, if the room becomes too cold, the air conditioner will reduce its output while still ensuring proper air circulation. Conversely, if the temperature increases, the air conditioner will reactivate cooling without requiring any action from the user.

This feature aims to enhance sleep quality while also providing efficient cooling throughout the day. Samsung asserts that this innovative approach could significantly lower electricity bills and maintain a pleasant indoor atmosphere. However, it is important to note that this system requires SmartThings-compatible smart fans and switches to function. While the company has not yet announced plans to expand this feature to other countries, its effectiveness will be closely monitored in India for the time being.
