Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Is A Galaxy S8 With Bigger Battery That Won’t Shatter

After multiple leaks and findings, the Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Active is now official. As expected, the phone is intended to be a more durable version of the regular Galaxy S8.

The Galaxy S8 Active has been designed to function and to survive in rather extreme conditions, or in other words, it’ll accidental drops and rugged usage much better than the normal S8.

“Our new Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is designed with tested durability and strength to address the needs of consumers who need a more rugged device for their lifestyle,” said Tim Baxter, CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, in a statement.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active is framed in a metallic case with Polycarbonate back. on the front, it sports a 5.8-inch 2K Super AMOLED Infinity display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

At the specification core, the phone will get you the same specs as the Galaxy S8 model, except for the significantly bigger 4000mAh battery.

The Galaxy S8 Active also feature Bixby which is Samsung’s voice assistant module that gives you quick access to a stopwatch, barometer, compass, and flashlight. Since the device is being launched in the US, this could be Samsung’s first device to feature the English assistant feature.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active will only retail in the United States as of now. The product is now open for pre-orders and will be exclusively available at At&T stores from August 11. In the US, it will amount to approx. $850 on contract ($28.34 for 30 months) that converts to roughly 54,187 INR.
