For a long time, we’ve been hearing reports and rumors about the Galaxy S24 series, the successor to Samsung’s S23. Initially, we knew that the company could prepone its launch by a few days. However, known tipster Evan Blass has now leaked that the Galaxy Unpacked event, with a big focus on AI-driven features, is supposed to take place on January 18, 2024. The tipster has shared a teaser through his X (formerly known as Twitter) account.

Galaxy S24 Series Specifications Leaked

Along with the teaser, the tipster has shared an infographic that reveals the specifications of all three smartphones in the Galaxy S24 series, including the vanilla Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Per the image, the Galaxy S24 will come in four colors, featuring a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X FHD+ display with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The smartphone will feature a triple rear camera system with a 50MP primary sensor and dual telephoto abilities of 2x and 3x.

Galaxy S24 To Feature Dual Telephoto Feature

However, whether the phone has two telephoto sensors isn’t clear. The vanilla Galaxy S23 features three sensors, including one telephoto and one ultrawide sensor. Although on the other side of the smartphone spectrum, the iPhone 15 features a 48MP primary sensor that provides lossless 2x zoom without much loss in quality. Hence, there’s a good chance that the Galaxy S24 will feature one telephoto lens to provide up to 3x optical zoom and manage the 2x zoom with its primary sensor.

The smartphone will have 8GB of RAM and come in two storage models, 128GB and 256GB. Further, the vanilla Galaxy S24 features a 4,000 mAh battery that charges from zero to 50 percent in about 30 minutes, suggesting that the phone will support fast charging. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 sports an IP68 water and dust resistance rating and armor aluminum 2.0 frame.

Galaxy S24 Plus To Feature 4,900 mAh Battery

The Galaxy S24 Plus features a larger 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Although the handset carries a camera setup similar to the Galaxy S24, it will feature 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage variants. Another striking difference is the massive 4,900 mAh battery on the Galaxy S24 Plus that goes from zero to 65 percent in about 30 minutes of charging.

Galaxy S24 Ultra To Feature A Titanium Frame And A 200MP Sensor

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, of all the variants, has the maxed-out specifications. It features a 6.8-inch QHD+ screen with 2,600 nits of peak brightness, a 200MP primary camera, four levels of telephoto zoom including 2x, 3x, 5x, and 10x, and Space Zoom up to 100x. The base variant should have 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage.

Regarding battery, the S24 Ultra sports a 5,000 mAh battery that can reach from zero to 65 percent in about 30 minutes. Unlike the other two models, the S24 Ultra will feature a titanium frame, like the one we’ve seen on the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and a built-in S Pen.

The picture shared by Blass also suggests that Galaxy S24 will feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC on all the models, which contradicts the previous reports about how the non-Ultra models will feature Samsung’s in-house Exynos chipset. Nonetheless, we can’t discard the possibility of the infographic being for the United States, in which case all the models should indeed run on the 8 Gen 3 SoC. More details about the smartphone should surface in the coming days.
