The wait for Galaxy Note 9 ended last night as Samsung President DJ Koh took the center stage in New York. The South-Korean giant streamed the event live on samsung.com and across all popular social media channels. The newly launched Note series smartphone holds immense significance for the company, as it will be pitched against an unreleased Google’s Pixel 3 and next-gen iPhones that are scheduled for a launch in the next two months.
The phone hasn’t really changed much from its predecessor Note8 in terms of design. However, Samsung has updated the Galaxy Note 9 with Bluetooth enabled S-pen stylus, scene detection enabled dual cameras and updated Bixby assistant. Also, you will only need a USB Type-C to HDMI connector (instead of Dex) to connect your phone to any monitor.
What’s new in the Galaxy Note 9 S-Pen:
Well, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 S-pen is now Bluetooth enabled and it can be used for from clicking images, to play pause videos, or to change presentation slides. That’s not all, the S-Pen can be used to control music or to unlock the Galaxy Note 9. Samsung has promised to release the S-Pen SDK for developers to develop a new way to use the S-Pen.
It takes less than a minute (40 seconds) to charge it and its battery lasts for about an hour. Regular work like doodling or jotting down notes doesn’t require power.
