The world got privy to the specifications of the all new and yet to be unveiled Samsung Galaxy J7, courtesy a leaked benchmark listing after an individual who had his/her hands on a prototype of the phone ran the Geekbench 4 on it.

Galaxy-J7-(2017)

The benchmark sheet has since set the Internet abuzz regarding the features of the phone as well as its release period. Although the model named in the sheet was SM-J727P, it is being rumored that the phone is indeed the newest version of the Galaxy J7.

According to the information, the 2017 version of the J7 would boot the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The device will apparently be powered by a 2.2Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with 2GB RAM.

Also, the newest addition to the Samsung’s J series of smartphones in 2017 will seemingly feature a 5.5-inch HD display along with a rumored 3300mAh battery.

The leak also threw some light on the optics of the phone which is most likely to feature a 12MP rear camera along with a 5MP camera at the front. Alas, the leak did not quite explain the quality or the other features of the cameras.

Also, if the rumors are to be believed, the South Korean company is tinkering with the design and we may very well see this year’s J7 feature a new rear panel design with a metallic strip for the camera and flash module.

Speculations about the phone achieving Bluetooth certification have also been rife for some time now.

It is being said that the Galaxy J2 (2017) is expected to hit the market at around the same time as the last year’s version (May).
