Samsung India has been rolling out press invites to media for an event to be held in India on May 21 but there was no disclosure to what will be unveiled on that day. There have been some rumors that the company could launch two Galaxy J models and two Galaxy A models during the event in India. To put the speculations to rest Samsung India tweeted that it will be unveiling mid-ranger – the Galaxy J6 smartphone in India on May 21. The company also confirmed that it will go on sale the very next day i.e May 22. The company claims that the upcoming phone will feature a ‘state-of-the-art design.’

The Galaxy J6 hasn’t been launched any market yet, therefore, it is safe to presume that it is “made for India” consumers. It is likely to be priced in the same bracket as the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. The phone is expected to flaunt a 5.6-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1480 pixels resolution. Another important thing to note here is that the panel will be an AMOLED one, not the IPS LCD one. Also, it will be first J-series phone with a signature Infinity display.

The Galaxy J6 leaked specs-sheet hits that Samsung will offer the same aging Exynos 7870 chipset under the hood. It is likely to be offered in 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM options. Samsung’s made for India software features including S Bike mode, Ultra Data Saving mode, and Samsung Mall too will also be part of the device. Moreover, reports which are based on the leaked the user manual of the phone suggest that it will also come with Dolby Atmos audio and face recognition.

On the optics part, the Galaxy J6 is likely to feature a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP sensor on the front for selfies. Once again, Samsung is likely to pack a 3000mAh battery inside if that the case it will be slightly underwhelming in comparison to its competitors.

As of now, not much is revealed to anyone. If the previous rumor is correct, the Galaxy J6 could be accompanied by the Galaxy J4, Galaxy A6, and the Galaxy A6+.
