While the street is gearing up for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, Samsung has quietly launched the Galaxy J3 Pro in India. The new J-Series phone is an incremental update to the Galaxy J3 that made its debut in 2016.
The Galaxy J3 Pro price has been set at Rs. 8,490 and will retail exclusively on Paytm Mall starting from April 6.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Pro made it to the news when the company announced it for China in June 2016. The phone houses a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280x720p HD resolution.
The J3 Pro ropes in a quad-core 1.5GHz chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB storage space with a microSD card slot for expansion.
For optics, the J3 Pro sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies. Samsung continues to offer an aging Lollipop based TouchWiz OS which offers “Made for India” features like Ultra Data Saving, and S-Bike mode option.
Samsung is yet to confirm whether they will upgrade it to Android Nougat in the near future.
The phone comes with connectivity features like dual SIM, 4GVoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, and a micro USB port. Samsung employs a 2,600mAh battery to provide juice to the smartphone.
