Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) and J Max Launched At 9,750 INR And 13,400 INR

Samsung India has today launched two new affordable budget J series handsets, the Galaxy J2 (2016) and Galaxy J Max, in India priced at 9,750 INR and 13,400 INR respectively. While the new generation J2 will serve as the launch pad of new J series feature like Smart Glow and Turbo Speed Technology, the J Max is more of a calling tablet with a massive 7-inch display.

Let’s talk about J2 and the new innovations it incorporates first. The Smart Glow is Samsung’s attempt at redefining LED lights. Smart Glow is an LED ring around the camera that can be customized to glow in specific colors, and for specific contacts and applications. Smart Glow can also be used for system alerts and to assist with selfies.

The Turbo Speed Technology is where Samsung reduces the size of pre-installed apps, keeps a check on background processes and optimizes RAM management (pushing less frequently used apps out) to have enough free RAM available at all times. The company claims 40 percent boost in app loading time.

The Galaxy J2 2016 also benefits from SBike mode and Universal Data Saving. Other hardware is pretty basic. You get 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.5 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 chip, 1.5GB RAM, 8MP + 5MP selfie camera and a 2600mAh battery. Software is latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Galaxy J Max, apart from its colossal 7-inch WXGA (1280 X 800) resolution TFT display, offers 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, with 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, up to 200GB MicroSD card support, 8MP + 2MP rear front camera combo, and a 4000 mAh battery. It also includes UDS and SBike mode (even though no one would dare use that while riding a bike).

The Galaxy J2 (2016) will be available in Gold, Silver and Black colors starting from 14^th July 2016. The J Max shall retail in in Black and Gold colors starting July end. Samsung is offering double data offer for 6 months to Airtel consumers with both of these devices.
