Apart from the upcoming S10 lineup and the M-series, Samsung could launch a bunch of A series smartphones this year. Reports claim that the company is planning to release a total of nine A-series phones including the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, and Galaxy A90 would feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, a South Korean report claims. The same can’t be said about the rest six phones, the report adds.

Samsung A50 Rumored Specs

A supposedly South-Korean variant of A50 with model number SM-A50FN/DS has repeatedly surfaced in various reports. The DS acronym in the model number could refer to the Dual-SIM support. As per the certification listing, the device will also support Dual-band Wi-Fi.

The front of the phone is likely to sport a 6-inch super AMOLED display and Samsung displays are eye candies. In its 2018 Developer Conference, the company had unveiled its new display designs. However, we are not yet sure which of the designs: Infinity O, U, V or New Infinity would be employed in Galaxy A50.

There could be a 5MP selfie shooter and a triple camera set up at the back with the primary one being a 24MP sensor. If we go with the rumors, some of the A series phones could also pack the 3D ToF camera enabling better depth effect in your portrait shots. So, we could expect one in A50 as well.

The processing may be helmed by an octa-core Exynos 9610 chipset. The American units could run on Qualcomm Snapdragon as an alternative to Samsung’s indigenous Exynos under the hood. Out of the box, they may flaunt the One-UI based on Android 9 Pie OS. Other rumored specifications include 64GB and 128GB onboard storage options.

As mentioned at the beginning of the article, this could have the support for an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, its unlikely to feature the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that Samsung would use on the Galaxy S10.

Samsung SM-A505GN Geekbench Listing

The phone was recently certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance and a Geekbench score sheet surfaced online hints at a 6GB RAM variant. Notably, this one has the model number of SM-A505GN. The previous leak from Nashville Chatterclass had shown a 4GB RAM variant. Apart from this RAM confusion, rest of the specs substantiates the previous leak.

Samsung has started getting sensors and modules from suppliers for its Galaxy A-series phones, as per the South Korean ET News. The South Korean giant collects sensor modules from Aegis Technologies. Partron and Mcnex are likely to be involved in the mass production of the sensors.
