Reliance Jio has recently made headlines with its significant merger with Disney+Hotstar, resulting in the creation of the JioStar OTT platform. Amid these developments in the OTT space, the company has discreetly introduced a new 5G upgrade voucher priced at Rs. 601, which provides unlimited 5G data for a year. This promotional telecom offer is designed for users currently subscribed to the Rs. 299 prepaid plan, which includes 1.5GB of daily data. With this voucher, even those on non-5G plans can access unlimited 5G connectivity at a highly competitive price.
This action follows Jio’s tariff increase implemented on July 3, 2024, which set a new standard for unlimited 5G access. Previously, users could avail themselves of Jio’s Welcome Offer with any plan priced at Rs. 239 or higher. However, following the increase, unlimited 5G benefits are now limited to plans that provide 2GB or more of daily data, including the Rs. 349 plan.

In July, Jio launched new upgrade plans enabling users on non-5G subscriptions to access unlimited 5G services. The offerings consist of booster packs priced at Rs. 51, Rs. 101, and Rs. 151. Each of these plans provides extra 4G data in addition to unlimited 5G access. Specifically, the Rs. 51 plan includes 3GB of 4G data, the Rs. 101 plan offers 6GB, and the Rs. 151 plan provides 9GB of 4G data.
The company is promoting a Rs. 601 voucher on the MyJio app, branding it as a ‘gift for seamless connectivity.’ This voucher can be purchased and activated directly through the app, but it is exclusively available to users subscribed to the Rs. 299 plan or above. Additionally, it provides access to 12 distinct Rs. 51 vouchers that can also be activated via the MyJio app. Users can benefit from this offer throughout the year. To redeem the voucher, please follow these steps.
- Go to MyJio account.
- Go to the ‘My Voucher’ section.
- Select the ‘Redeem’ icon.

In addition to the Rs. 601 voucher, Jio has introduced several budget-friendly standalone data-only packages. The latest offering is a Rs. 11 plan that provides 10GB of data for one hour, making it the most economical option available. Other available plans are priced at Rs. 49 (25GB data for one day), Rs. 175 (10GB data for 28 days), Rs. 219(30GB data for 30 days), Rs. 289(40GB data for 30 days), and Rs. 359(50GB data for 30 days), all of which focus solely on data without any calling or SMS features.
Through these genuinely unlimited upgrade plans and independent data packages, Jio seeks to enhance the affordability of 5G access, providing users with the flexibility to enhance their connectivity without incurring substantial cost increases.
