Redmi is finally bringing the Turbo series to India with the Redmi Turbo 5. The Turbo lineup has traditionally focused on delivering strong performance, and the Turbo 5 continues that formula. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra and priced under ₹40,000, the phone combines a large battery, fast charging, and a premium build in Xiaomi’s upper mid-range portfolio.

Redmi Turbo 5 Specs

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a 6.59-inch flat LTPS AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi has opted for a flat panel design, paired with Gorilla Glass 7i protection on the front and a metal frame around the device. The phone also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset. It is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, while a 5,800 mm² 3D Ice Loop Cooling system handles heat dissipation.

On the camera front, the Redmi Turbo 5 features a dual rear setup including a 50MP Light Fusion 600 primary sensor. The 1/2-inch camera has an f/1.5 aperture, OIS, and AF, with support for up to 4K 60fps video recording. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera using the SmartSens SC821 sensor, which records video at up to 1080p 30fps.

For selfies and video calls, the device uses a 20MP OmniVision OV20B 1/4-inch type front camera with support for 1080p 60fps recording.

Xiaomi has equipped the phone with a 7,540 mAh battery alongside 100W fast charging support. Other features include stereo speakers, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster, and REDMI Pixel Matrix lighting effects around the camera rings.

The Redmi Turbo 5 runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi says the device will receive four years of Android version updates and six years of security patches.

Redmi Turbo 5 Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Turbo 5 starts at ₹37,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB version costs ₹40,999. The phone will be available through Xiaomi’s official website and Amazon. Xiaomi is offering the device in Silver and Blue. There’s a ₹2,000 bank discount on select cards, making the effective price ₹35,999.
