It’s official. Redmi has announced that it will launch Redmi Buds 5 in India on February 12. It is not an exclusive launch because we already saw Redmi Buds 5 in China last year followed by a global launch a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, Redmi India took it to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the February 12 with the hashtag #SuperBuds.

Talking about the specifications, there won’t be much difference between the Chinese and Indian variants. The Redmi Buds 5 still has 12.4mm titanium drivers with 46dB Hybrid ANC, dual-mic for calls, dual device pairing, and AI for voice enhancements.

The Buds are capable of putting a staggering 38 hours of battery life for music playback and you can charge the Buds via USB-C integrated on the charging case. Each bud is capable of putting out 10 hours of backup without the ANC enabled. Turning on ANC still gives you 8 hours of music playback per ear. Moreover, plug in the USB-C charging and you get 2 hours worth of playback with just a 5 min charge.

The earbuds sport a 12.4mm dynamic coil with titanium-plated polymer paired with a 1.6mm dynamic coil and a robust neodymium magnet, where all the components work towards offering impeccable sound quality to the buds. There are various sub-features such as EQ effects, treble and bass improvements, and vocal enhancements thanks to Xiaomi’s Golden Ears Team.

Moving on, we have a hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) feature capable of suppressing noise by 46dB. It has three reduction levels and transparency modes that offer seamless voice quality both with the ANC enabled and disabled.

As for the price, Redmi Buds 5 is priced at CNY 199 in China which translates to INR 2,300/- although the Indian pricing would differ. You can choose between Midnight Dark, Clear Snow White, and Taro Purple colorways when making your purchase.
