On April 23, 2024, Redmi launched its latest Android tablet in India – the Redmi Pad SE. The device features an 11-inch screen, runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, and draws power from a massive 8,000 mAh battery.

Though the tablet has three different configurations, the base variant costs Rs. 12,999. Let’s find out more details about the Redmi Pad SE, its design, specifications, and how it compares with other models in the segment.

On the front, the tablet features symmetrical bezels, giving it a more contemporary look. Unlike other models in the segment, the front camera rests on the top chin (when holding the phone in a landscape position).

The Pad SE features a metal unibody with volume rockets on the right frame, a dual-speaker setup on the top and the bottom frame, and a USB-C port (along with the headphone jack) at the bottom. There’s a power button on the top frame as well.

The tablet is available in two colors: Lavender Purple and Graphite Gray.

Redmi Pad SE Specifications And Features

Redmi Pad SE screen

First things first, the Android tablet comes with an 11-inch FHD+ screen that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 90Hz (with a touch sampling rate of 180Hz) and a peak brightness of 400 nits. Complementing the screen is a quad-speaker setup that supports Dolby Atmos.

The device has a TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light Certification (Software Solution) and a Flicker Free Certification. Both certifications and Reading Mode 3.0 “ensure that your eyes do not get fatigued even after long hours of learning,” the official landing page states.

Under the hood, the Redmi Pad SE runs on the Snapdragon 680 SoC (6nm). The octa-core processor has a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz. Alongside the chipset, the tablet comes with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. In India, the tablet is available in three different RAM models. The storage is expandable up to 1TB.

Users get an 8MP (f/2.0) primary camera for clicking pictures. On the front, there’s a 5MP (f/2.2) for attending classes, video conferences, or clicking selfies. As mentioned earlier, the front camera is situated on the horizontal bezel.

Powering the 11-inch tablet is an 8,000 mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging via a USB-C port. Redmi claims that the battery can provide up to 14 hours of video playback and up to 43 days of standby time.

The Redmi Pad SE’s connectivity options include Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz, Bluetooth v5.0, and a USB-C port. This is a Wi-Fi-only tablet. Out of the box, the device runs on MIUI Pad 14, which is based on Android 13.

The base variant of the Pad SE, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, costs Rs. 12,999. The other two models with 6GB and 8GB of RAM (and 128GB of storage) cost Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 14,999 respectively.

Redmi Pad SE Vs. Moto Tab G62 LTE Vs. Galaxy Tab A9: Which Is The Best For You?

While both the Redmi Pad SE and the Moto Tab G62 LTE run on the Snapdragon 680 SoC, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 runs on the MediaTek Helio G99, making it the least powerful.

The Redmi Pad SE, with its largest battery, 8,000 mAh, should outperform the other two in terms of battery life. On the flip side, the Moto Tab G62 provides LTE connectivity at Rs. 10,999.

While the Redmi Pad SE runs on MIUI 14 based on Android 13, the Moto Tab G62 LTE runs on Android 12. The Galaxy Tab A9, on the other hand, runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13.

In conclusion, it does look like the Redmi Pad SE provides more value for money. However, the ultimate decision lies with the customer.
