The Chinese smartphone brand Redmi has launched a new pair of TWS earbuds in India – Redmi Buds 5. It will compete with other devices from brands like OnePlus and Oppo. Some key Redmi Buds 5 features include up to 38 hours of battery life and active noise cancelation. That said, here’s everything you need to know about the new TWS earbuds under Rs. 3,000.

Redmi Buds 5 Specifications And Features

Redmi Buds 5 filters out wind noises

First, the Buds 5 feature 12.4mm dynamic drivers with titanium diaphragm. They have a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The brand claims the drivers are designed for “exceptional clarity, depth, and detail.” For hands-free audio calls, the earbuds have two microphones each. Further, the anti-wind noise algorithm prevents disturbances due to wind.

The Redmi Buds 5 come with three modes of active noise cancelation: Light, Balanced, and Deep. Moreover, the earbuds claim to cut out up to 46dB of noise. The company claims the earbuds can cut out “99.5 percent of background noise.” Along with ANC, users also get three levels of transparency mode: regular, enhanced voice, and enhanced ambient sound.

With ANC, the Buds 5 can last up to eight hours on a single charge (at 50 percent volume), while the charging case can extend the battery life up to 30 hours. Without ANC, the earbuds can last up to 10 hours on a single charge (at 50 percent volume) and up to 38 hours with the charging case. Listening at higher volume levels could significantly reduce the battery life.

Redmi Buds 5 charging time

The earbuds can last up to seven hours for phone calls without noise cancelation. Interestingly, the charging case also supports fast charging, wherein 10 minutes can give you four hours of playtime. The device’s rated Bluetooth (v5.3) range is 10m, and the supported codecs include SBC and AAC. It also supports Google’s Fast Pair technology and dual-device pairing.

While the earbuds weigh 10.25 grams, the charging case weighs 42.47 grams with the earbuds. To control playback, users have touch controls on the stem. Users also get four sound modes: Standard, Enhance, Treble, Enhance Bass, and Enhance Vocals. The earbuds also feature an IP54 water and resistance rating. Last but not least, the device is available in three colors: Fusion White, Fusion Purple, and Fusion Black.
