Poco is gearing up for its next launch after the X4 series arrived earlier this year. Dubbed the Poco X5 series, its vanilla variant dubbed as Poco X5 5G has been spotted on the IMEI database ahead of its launch. With model number 20, the listing does reveal which markets it will be available at as well as some key specifications.

Poco X5 5G Spotted on IMEI

As reported by XiaomiUI, the Poco X5 5G has been spotted on IMEI listing ahead of its launch. The phone has a model suffix of 20. The complete model numbers are 22101320G, 22101320I, and 22101320C where the suffixes G, I, and C stand for Global, Indian, and Chinese variants. It is quite obvious that the model number suggests Poco X5 5G will be available across these markets albeit it could be under different names. From what we know so far, the Chinese variant is reported to pack in a Redmi moniker.

As the specifications are concerned, Poco X5 5G packs in an IPS LCD panel onboard with a 120Hz refresh rate. It reportedly doesn’t have an AMOLED panel which could have been a deal maker. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC under the hood which we have already seen with Motorola Moto Edge 30 5G and Nothing Phone (1) in India.

The phone is codenamed ‘redwood’ as hinted by XiaomiUI’s report as well. Apart from that, the model number mentioned above suggests that the phone could arrive this month between October 13 and October 20. Although Xiaomi or Poco is yet to confirm the same, the speculations are pretty strong around this date range. Since the phone already appeared on the IMEI listing, it is quite obvious that the launch is imminent but without a particular date at least at the time of writing this.
