Oppo Find X – is finally here after numerous leaks and speculations. The new flagship phone from the Chinese smartphone maker has one of the highest screen-to-body ratios and a retractable top edge, which accommodates both dual-rear cameras and a selfie camera that has 3D facial scanning system.

The Oppo Find X hands-on video was posted on the internet by The Verge. It gives us full accounts of the device hours before the official launch in Paris, today.

Oppo Find X Features

To begin with, the Oppo Find X sets a new benchmark with an impressive 93.8 % screen-to-body ratio, leaving behind Vivo’s Nex-series. The phone’s top-edge features a motorized system, which pop-up the cameras everytime you open the camera app or do face unlock. Oppo claims that the cameras on Find X can launch in 0.5-seconds.

Oppo has dolled the Find X in a glass body, which is curved from the edges that should make it comfortable to wield. There is no fingerprint sensor on the phone whatsoever, so you get a sleek rear panel with nothing but the firm’s branding on it.

On the hardware front, the Oppo Find X features a 6.4-inch 19.5:9 OLED (1080p resolution) display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset – a go-to SoC for 2018 flagship phones. The Find X camera specifications include a 25-megapixel sensor on the front and a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel sensors on the rear-end.

3D Omoji

To compensate for the fingerprint sensor, Oppo has packed the Find X front camera with 3D face unlock, which it calls O-Face Recognition. This uses 3D Structured Light Technology which scans 15,000 facial points. The selfie camera also lets you create a 3D Omoji, similar to Apple’s Animoji, and share it with your contacts.

The phone also employs 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and 3700mAh battery with VOOC fast wired charging. The Oppo Find X comes running on Android Oreo-based Color OS out-of-the-box.

Oppo Find X Price and India Launch

The Find X price is set at £999 (roughly Rs 78,000). The phone will be available for sale from August, unsure whether that time frame is for Europe, North America, or both markets as of now.

As for the Oppo Find X India launch, it is expected to be on July 12. The firm has started rolling out the press invite in the country.
