Oppo F7 with Display Notch Goes Official In India – Price, Specifications, and Features

Close on the heels of Vivo V9 (Review), Oppo has launched its Notch display phone F7. All the specs and images of the phone had already leaked ahead of the launch, so there weren’t many surprises tossed our way at the gala launch.(हिंदी में पढ़े)

The Oppo F7 treads along the same lines as Vivo V9. It’s a ‘Selfie-expert’ with a 25MP front camera and has an immersive display with a notch and 88 percent screen-to-body ratio. There are no dual cameras on the phone, however.

Oppo F7 Features and Specs

The F7 is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P60 octa-core chipset. This is a recently launched 12nm process based SoC meant to deliver AI smarts to mid-range phones. There are 4x Cortex-A73 cores clubbed with 4x Cortex-A53 cores – all with a maximum clock frequency of 2.0GHz.

MediaTek hasn’t detailed its dedicated AI hardware, but it’s supposed to be 2X faster than GPU at machine learning (claims MediaTek). The chipset is supported by 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The software running on the handset is Color OS 5.0 based on Android Oreo.

The primary attraction is the 6.23-inch Full HD+ (19:9) display that comes with a notch – apparently the latest rage on the Android side of things.

The F7 is the first phone to include Sony IMX576 sensor with Sensor HDR (Hardware HDR). The 25MP selfie camera uses AI to beautify accurately in tricky lighting and has HDR support for balanced exposure. You also get a software-powered portrait mode for selfies.

On the rear, the Oppo F7 has a single 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4K recording support. Other features include 3400mAh battery, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, and dual-band Wi-Fi.

Oppo F7 India Price, Availability, and Offers

Oppo F7 will be available in India for a starting price of 21,990 INR. The phone will be available in Diamond Black, Moonlight Silver, and Solo Red color options. The diamond black variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available only from Oppo stores for Rs. 26,990.

The Oppo F7 will go on sale starting April 9. Oppo will also host a flash sale on April 2 on Flipkart as well as 777 offline stores.

Launch offers include One-time screen replacement, 5% cash back on ICICI cards, and additional 120GB 4G data on Reliance Jio.
