OnePlus Open Apex Edition To Launch in India on August 7

OnePlus launched its first ever foldable in India in 2023 and called it OnePlus Open. OnePlus Open is loaded with top-notch specs and was announced in Emerald Green and Voyager Black shades at the time of launch. Now, months later OnePlus is all set to roll out a special OnePlus Open Apex Edition with a Crimson shadow color. OnePlus claims this special edition is more than just an update and will arrive in India on 7th August.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition: Concept & Design

The OnePlus Open Apex Edition is being launched to pay homage to “Hasselblad 503CW 60 Years Victor Red Edition”. The foldable will come with usual Hasselblad features that are a part of the regular variant but there will be a new design.

The latest edition will feature a luxurious vegan leather exterior in a striking crimson-red hue. It will showcase a diamond-pattern design complemented by orange accents on the alert slider. In a recent press release, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus Open Apex Edition will include ‘improved storage, AI image editing capabilities, and advanced security features.’ Additionally, the OnePlus Open store page indicates a placeholder for an alternative memory configuration. The product page for the Apex Edition verifies that it will receive three years of operating system updates and will be pre-installed with Android 14.

OnePlus Open Apex Edition: Price

The price of the OnePlus Open Apex Edition will be announced on 7th August and the foldable might go on sale within a week from the launch. The regular OnePlus Open costs Rs. 1,19,000 currently but its original price was Rs. 1,39,999 for the 16GB RAM+512GB variant. Apex Edition is also expected to be priced along similar lines.

Apart from India, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition will also be launched in Europe and USA.

OnePlus Open: Specs

Since most of the specs of the Apex Edition will be similar to the regular version, let us have a look at the specs of the OnePlus Open. It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage and runs OxygenOS 14 out of the box. The foldable boasts of a 7.82-inch Flexi Fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED 2K screen when unfolded while there is a 6.31-inch LTPO 3.0 AMOLED cover display with 2800 nits brightness. The displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of 431ppi.

In terms of camera, the OnePlus Open has a triple-lens setup at the back including a 48MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 64MP telephoto lens. At the front is a dual selfie camera setup including a 32MP and a 20MP snapper. It draws juice from a 4805mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging and weighs 239 grams. The thickness is 11.7mm.
