OnePlus has launched the Ace Racing Edition, a gaming phone at a budget inspired from the original Ace launched in China. The device brings onboard a Dimensity 8100-Max SoC along with 120Hz LCD panel, a 67W fast charging tech and more. Check out more details here.

OnePlus Ace Racing Edition Pricing and Availability

The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition has arrived at a price tag of CNY 1,800 for 8GB+128GB which is technically 20% cheaper than the original Ace. There’s an 8GB+256GB model available at CNY 2,200 while the full-fledged 12GB+256GB model gets a price tag of CNY 2,400. You have two color options – Gray and Blue.

Pre-orders have started in China via OppoShop.cn with a 14 days window for the pre-order stage where the discounts are available.

OnePlus Ace Racing Edition Specifications

The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition arrives with a giant 6.59-inch LCD 120Hz panel which can give you six refresh modes at 30/48/50/60/90/120Hz. There’s a 240Hz touch sampling rate. For those who don’t know, OnePlus was able to bring the price of the device down by cost-cutting in terms of display (and other techs) so the 6.7-inch AMOLED is gone and so is the 720Hz higher-touch sampling rate.

There’s a HyperBoost technology on the device that keeps your gaming experience a bliss with constant frame rate. The device still retains a high-quality 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has a peak brightness of 600 nits.

The device uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset made on a 5nm node which is as efficient as the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Although some critics believe it is more powerful. OnePlus Ace Racing Edition draws its power from a 5000mAh battery with a 67W fast charging tech. Now, although this is a tad bit slower than 80W on the OnePlus 10R, the 67W fast charging system still gives you an 80% battery life in 29 minutes so that’s still impressive.

Talking about the camera setup, we have a triple-camera setup at the back. This includes a 64MP wide-angle camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera with 119° FoV, and a 4cm macro lens. There’s a 16MP selfie camera as well. For comparison, OnePlus has made quite a few cost-cutting techniques here where the original Ace had a 50MP OIS primary shooter with 4K@60fps while the Ace Racing is able to shoot up to 4K@30fps.

OnePlus Ace Racing Edition brings onboard a lot of beef including high-quality Bluetooth audio support that counts LHDC, LDAC, and aptX HD. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack which is truly awesome for audiophiles. There’s a stereo speaker support along with Dirac Audio among others.
