OnePlus 12, an upcoming Android flagship, is one of the most promising Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phones. The company has already confirmed the release date for the phone, which happens to be December 5, 2023. Further, OnePlus has also revealed the first look of the phone on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. However, apart from the teaser uploaded by the company, tipsters have also leaked some high-quality renders of the upcoming smartphone.

Known tipster Evan Blass has leaked the images of the OnePlus 12. The high-quality renders showcase the upcoming Android flagship in three colors: plain white, textured green, and black. The image shows that the phone has a punch-hole camera cutout on the front and a relatively thick chin at the bottom in an otherwise edge-to-edge screen (slightly curved at the edges). Further, the power/volume buttons are on the right side, whereas the iconic alert slider is on the left.

The rear panel also houses the primary design element of the smartphone – the circular camera cutout with two regular cameras and one periscope lens. At first glance, the module looks similar to that of the OnePlus 11. However, a closer look reveals that OnePlus 12’s camera module has a sharp circular edge. Instead of all the sensors being at the same level underneath a glass sheet, each camera sensor has a separate housing that protrudes from the rear panel.

The camera module also has Hasselblad’s branding on the left, which indicates that the partnership remains intact. At the center of the rear panel is OnePlus’ branding. Moreover, the phone looks much like its predecessor, which is true for most flagships. On one hand, the approach helps brands create a unique identity. Conversely, consumers often complain about minimal to no innovation in subsequent smartphones.

OnePlus 12 Official Teaser

Another tipster who goes by the name @OnLeaks on X (formerly) known as Twitter has the official OnePlus 12 trailer. The company published it earlier this morning on Weibo. It starts with a close-up shot of a shiny metallic watch where the minute hand goes from the number 11 to 12, indicating it is time for the arrival of the new flagship. Then, the watch dial transforms into the rear camera module of the smartphone. The video also seems to tease the new periscope lens of the phone, as it contains a dedicated shot.

OnePlus 12 Global Launch Could Be In January 2024

Per a translated Weibo post, the OnePlus 12 product launch conference will be held at 14:30 on December 5, 2023. However, the smartphone might not go global before January 2024. When the phone comes out, it will compete with the likes of iQoo 12, Pixel 8, Galaxy S23, and the iPhone 15.

iQoo 12 to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

Several reports suggest that the OnePlus 12 will come with a 6.82-inch 2K OLED LTPO screen that supports a 120Hz display and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Under the hood, the smartphone will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with LPDDR5X RAM that could go up to 24GB. Besides, the phone could also feature a 5,400 mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Regarding optics, the OnePlus 12 will feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP telephoto shooter. On the front, users could get a 32MP selfie shooter as well. However, all these remain to be leaked specifications, and customers should wait until the company confirms them.
