OnePlus 12 Renders: What do they tell us about the OnePlus 2023 flagship?
The OnePlus 12 showcases an elegant and sleek design, featuring a glossy Black color with the iconic OnePlus sandstone finish. Upon analyzing the renders, one notable change becomes apparent—the camera arrangement. OnePlus appears to have drawn inspiration from the OPPO Reno 10 Pro+ (review) and opted for a periscopic telephoto lens setup, as opposed to the traditional telephoto lens found in the OnePlus 11. This periscopic telephoto lens stands out with a distinct black strip, adding a touch of sophistication to the device’s camera module.
While the overall design of the camera module remains consistent with its predecessor, the OnePlus 12 adopts a square-ish camera island that seamlessly merges into the side frame. A chromed-out stainless steel bump is situated beneath the camera ring, providing a refined aesthetic. Due to the horizontal stacking of the periscopic lenses, there was limited space within the module for the LED flash. Consequently, OnePlus relocated the LED Flash outside the circular ring, positioning it at the top left corner of the island.
Moving to the front of the phone, OnePlus has made notable upgrades. Early images of the OnePlus 12 indicate slimmer bezels compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11. Additionally, the placement of the selfie camera has been shifted from the top left corner to the center. It is important to note that recent OnePlus flagship models have embraced a punch-hole selfie camera design, and the OnePlus 12 continues this trend.
OnePlus 12 Specifications and Features
Here’s what we currently know about the OnePlus 12:
It is rumored to boast a curved 2K display with slim bezels and support for high-frequency PWM dimming. The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch QHD OLED screen with a high 120Hz refresh rate.
In terms of charging capabilities, the OnePlus 12 is rumored to support 150W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging technology. Additionally, it is likely to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, according to prominent tipster Digital Chat Station. This chipset is anticipated to offer enhanced performance, complemented by the new Adreno 750 GPU, later this year.
Regarding the camera setup, the OnePlus 12 is expected to sport a 50MP IMX9-series main camera sensor, accompanied by a 50MP wide-angle lens and a 64MP Omnivision OV64B periscope lens. This represents an upgrade over the 50MP+48MP+32MP camera configuration found in the OnePlus 11.
To power all these features, the OnePlus 12 is likely to be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 11.
Overall, the OnePlus 12 aims to offer users a refined and sophisticated flagship experience, combining impressive hardware upgrades, a sleek design, and powerful performance.
Ahh man.. why can't they finally get rid of that ugly camera module design more to the style of Samsung's S21 or at least like in OnePlus 7 Pro?
