Samsung’s One UI 7 beta is officially rolling out, and Galaxy S24 series users in India, the UK, and the US will be able to join the beta testing soon. While it brings several aesthetic changes, one standout feature is app archiving.

What is App Archiving and How Does It Work?
App archiving allows you to uninstall apps without losing their data. If you decide to reinstall, the app is restored seamlessly. This is particularly useful for freeing up storage while keeping your app preferences and data intact.
How It Works: A new Archive button appears in app info settings, sitting alongside the Open button. Tap it, and the app files are removed, but the data remains on your device. When reinstalling, the app retrieves its data from supported app stores like the Google Play Store, Galaxy Store, or F-droid.

This feature is a basic Android 15 feature, but Samsung is one of the few brands to adopt it so far. While the feature is available in One UI 7, it’s missing from OxygenOS 15, HyperOS 2, and Funtouch OS 15.
