OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei’s Nothing is set to unveil its first product — a TWS earphone named Ear 1. That’s a unique product name from a uniquely named company. Well, it doesn’t come as a surprise per se as we had known from teasers and reports that Nothing will begin its hardware journey with an earphone.
Now we know that the product will be called Ear 1 and will be launching in June across the world including India.
“Ear 1 combines notes of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality. It is the starting point that will define the artistry, confidence, and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come,” shares Mr. Pei in a company blogpost.

It was also reported that a TWS earphone will be just a start and the company aims to venture into other AIoT products down the line. Carl Pei addresses the same by saying, “We believe the earphones market was begging for differentiation, a space where we can elevate design and deliver value from day one. Additionally, as an area of hyper growth, the earphones market will provide a fertile backdrop as we strengthen our capabilities and prepare to enter new product categories.”
The blog post also reveals how Nothing’s mission is to “remove barriers between people and technology to create a seamless digital future that looks, lives, and feels like nothing”.

Further, as for the device itself, what we gather from the post is that the earphone will have a “stripped-down aesthetic” and “deliver value from day one”. That said, we still don’t know anything about what the product specifics are or how much it would cost. But, since the June 1 launch date isn’t that far, we expect more details to surface in the following days. So, stay tuned.
