HMD Global has finally launched the Nokia 9 PureView in India, months after the MWC debut. This Nokia’s crown jewel grabbed headlines for its Zeiss optics powered Penta-cameras at the back.

Since its rebirth, Nokia has shown a good track record in terms of timely software updates and support. A recent update has reportedly brought live bokeh mode and other important camera improvements.

However, going by the global reviews, the Nokia 9 PureView is hardly worth the Rs. 49,999 price.

The Penta setup is home to three 12MP monochrome cameras, and two 12MP RGB cameras, all with f/1.8 aperture and Zeiss certification. The handset employs a computational algorithm to merge these photos together for a single output. You get to tinker with the advanced pro-mode even capture native monochrome photos. Nokia has managed to bake them to the back without a bump.

The major meh factor would be its dated Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. This is mated to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It draws juice from a 3,320mAh battery with wireless charging support. Rest, the phone has dual-SIM support, USB-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. It also features IP-67 certification for dust and water resistance. Sadly no, 3.5mm headphone jack.
