TL;DR
  • OnePlus is working on a new foldable codenamed ‘Pagani’.
  • It might be a more affordable foldable or flip-style phone.
  • OnePlus is also working on a mini version of OnePlus Watch 3.

Tech giant OnePlus has announced that it will not be releasing the OnePlus Open 2 in 2025. However, this does not imply that the company lacks plans for foldable devices this year. Trusted leaker Max Jambor recently revealed information about a OnePlus foldable device referred to by the codename ‘Pagani’.

While there were speculations that this could be an internal name for the OnePlus Open 2, that seems unlikely given the confirmed absence of the Open 2 in 2025. The leaker also clarified that ‘Pagani’ refers to a new device rather than a special edition foldable.

Is OnePlus ‘Pagani’ an all-new device?

There is a strong possibility that ‘Pagani’ could be an entirely new foldable device, potentially serving as a sub-flagship or a flip phone from OnePlus. Following Oppo’s recent decision to cancel the Find N5 Flip and restrict the launch of the Find N5, it seems that Oppo may turn to its sister brand OnePlus to introduce a flip phone aimed at capturing consumer interest.

At this point, all of these are simply conjectures, as there is no solid evidence to back any of these assertions. If OnePlus intends to introduce a foldable device this year, it would likely be at odds with its previous announcement regarding the decision to refrain from launching a foldable until 2025.

OnePlus Watch 3 Mini

In other news, OnePlus is developing a compact variant of the OnePlus Watch 3, named the OnePlus Watch 3 Mini, which is expected to launch in India shortly. According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, this new model will feature a 43mm case and an 18mm strap, in contrast to the 46mm case of the OnePlus Watch 3. There are strong indications that the Oppo Watch X2 Mini may be rebranded as the OnePlus Watch 3 Mini, with a 42mm size at launch.

Similar to the ‘Pagani’ foldable, information regarding the OnePlus Watch 3 Mini is still unverified, so we will need to wait a few days for further updates. In the meantime, let’s review the specifications of the OnePlus Watch 3, as the mini version is expected to incorporate some of its features.
