OTT Platform Netflix has unveiled the first look of a limited series, which is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s timeless novel Pride & Prejudice. In April 2025, the platform announced that it is adapting the 1813 novel into a six-part show starring Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, and Olivia Colman, and now the entire cast has been revealed along with a first look and filming announcement. Emma Corrin, who plays Elizabeth Bennet, describes the role as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and feels privileged that she will bring this iconic character to life. Pride & Prejudice Series: Announcement

Netflix has released the first look of the Pride & Prejudice series via its Instagram handle. Sharing the picture of Mrs. Bennet with her five daughters, the streamer confirmed that the show is now in production in the UK. The caption reads, “It is a truth universally acknowledged that Pride & Prejudice is now in production.”

The release date hasn’t been announced yet, but as the show is already filming, we can expect it to be out in the first half of 2026. It will stream on Netflix India OTT Platform and be a limited 6-episode series.

The plot revolves around the story of the Bennet sisters and their pursuits of love and marriage in 19th-century England, particularly focusing on the relationship between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. It is an 18th-century novel written by Jane Austen.

Pride & Prejudice: Other Adaptations

  • BBC turned the age-old love story into a miniseries in 1995 with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy.
  • 10 years later, the novel was adapted into a movie starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen.

The story will be the same this time, too, but the cast is entirely new.
