Motorola hints to launch Moto G100 globally with Snapdragon 870 5G SoC

Motorola teases a new smartphone without a name that would be launched globally. The company took to Twitter releasing a video with few specs hints. The device is expected to be Moto G100.

The teaser video from Motorola features a phone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset. It sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Interestingly, the specs and design exactly resemble the Motorola Edge S which was launched back in January in China.

It is widely believed that Lenovo-backed manufacturer is rebranding the Motorola Edge S as Moto G100 for the global market. If it happens to be true, we have plenty to share about the upcoming Moto G100 with you.

Moto G100 Expected Features

If Motorola chooses to go with Edge S features, Moto G100 will get a 6.7-inch FHD+ LCD dual punch-hole display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 21:9 aspect ratio. The back panel will be glossy to the touch. There will be dual front cameras including a 16MP primary and an 8MP 100° ultra-wide sensor. The rear end could offer four cameras viz. a 64MP primary camera, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth shooter, and a ToF lens.

Moto G100 is already confirmed to get a Snapdragon 870 5G processor. The company could offer two RAM options of 6GB or 8GB with internal capacities of 128GB or 256GB. The device could support 20W fast charging on its 5000mAh battery.

The brand has set the price of Motorola Edge S starting from 1,999 Yuan (around Rs 22,500) in China and we could expect similar pricing to India as well. Since the company has started to drop hints, we shouldn’t be much behind the official announcement of the Moto G100.
