Moto Edge+ with SD865 & Moto Edge with SD765 goes official

Motorola has launched two new phones. The brand enters flagship territory with the Moto Edge+ running on Snapdragon 865 and a high-profile repertoire. It is accompanied by a regular Moto Edge that helms Snapdragon 765 inside. The whole package is luxurious and likewise is the price tag.

Let’s dig into their on-paper offering to see where they stack up against their counterparts.

Beginning with the biggie,

Moto Edge+ Specs and Features

The Edge design which is extolled by Motorola is something that dates back to 2014. Remember Galaxy Note Edge. Still, it’s a looker for sure. The curved edges can be used for:

  • Edge Lighting for notifications, battery status, alarms
  • You can swipe up or down on the edge to quickly switch apps and check notifications.
  • While gaming in landscape mode, you can use the two customizable buttons at the top and bottom as shoulder triggers.

The face flaunts a 6.77-inch 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED screen. To the left edge nests a 25MP camera within a punch hole.

By the back, a 108MP Samsung HMX sensor that outs 27MP JPEGs post pixel binning. This is teamed with a 16MP 117-degree ultrawide module, a 3x optical 8MP telephoto module, and a ToF sensor. Motorola vaunts 6K video recording capability from the Edge+.

Internally, the phone is rocking a Snapdragon 865 chip paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. A 5000mAh battery ensures copious amount of juice backed by 18W fast charging, 15W Wireless Charging, and 5W Reverse Charging.

Rest, you also get an IP68 ingress protection rating, in-screen fingerprint scanner, Dual speakers, 3.5mm jack, USB-C, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G, and NFC.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto Edge+ will be available in Smoky Sangria and Thunder Grey colors while the regular Edge comes in Solar Black and Midnight Magenta colors.

The Motorola Edge+ will be out on sale in the US starting May 14 via Verizon wireless. It is priced at $999 (about Rs. 76,400). The Motorola Edge is deferred for ‘this summer’ and thus pricing is yet to be announced.

Similarly, there is no official word on Indian availability.
