Microsoft’s Surface laptops and tablets can be viewed as the windows versions of Mac devices. These innovative machines aim to demonstrate the best of Windows experience on a laptop. Microsoft had launched the Surface Go earlier this year for the global market which is a tablet cum PC that is supposed to aid students. Now, Surface Go has been made available even in India starting today. So let us take a quick look at the specifications and features of this new 2-in-1 computer from Microsoft.
Microsoft Surface Go Features
This new Surface Go is a toned down version of the Surface laptop that still packs all the major traits of a Surface device. This affordable handheld device from Microsoft features a 10-inch PixelSense Display with a resolution of 1800x 1200 and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The device is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by Intel’s Pentium Gold processor 4415Y which should breeze you through day-to-day tasks. However, it might not be a great performer if you are looking at graphic-intense games or advanced photo editing tools.
The tablet will come with two RAM variants – 4GB and 8GB – compounded with either a 64GB eMMC drive or a 128GB SSD. The laptop does have a 5MP front-facing camera that helps in Windows Hello face authentication and 1080p Skype video calls. On the rear, we have an 8MP auto-focus camera with 1080p HD video recording. The 2-in-1 tablet packs 2W stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium support.

Surface Go has 1 USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, 1 Surface connect port, a surface type cover port, and a microSDXC card reader. It does come with a Nano SIM tray that supports 4G LTE bands. It comes with Windows 10 version in S mode that can be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. This 2-in-1 laptop can be used in studio mode using the kickstand given on the rear. It does support the S pen which has to be bought separately. You can also purchase the Surface Go magnetic keyboard to use this device in laptop mode.
Microsoft Surface Go has been priced at Rs.37,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, whereas the 8GB +128GB entails a price of Rs. 49,999. The wireless keyboard can be availed at a discounted price of Rs.4,697 when bought with the Surface Go.
