Micromax’s forthcoming device is going to be an interesting mid-range phone, going by the recent leak. The phone from the domestic manufacturer is allegedly dubbed as Micromax YU5 and its specifications surfaced on the benchmark site, Geekbench, revealing valuable details and benchmark scores.
Micromax YU5 Specifications (Based on Leak)
According to Geekbench, the Micromax YU5 features a Qualcomm MSM8953 SoC or Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mobile-chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM. It managed to achieve a considerably high single-core and multi-core score of 771 and 3,823 respectively.
The Geekbench listing further lists processor’s clock speed as 1.8GHz, which is lower than the expected 2.0GHz clock speed of the Snapdragon 625 chipset.
As for the software, the Micromax YU5 will come running on Android Oreo 8.1-based Custom UI. Sadly, we have only this much of information available about the upcoming Micromax device as of now.
The Snapdragon 625 is now dated but still a decent processor that is built on the 14nm FinFET process and sports eight Cortex A53 Cores.
If Micromax YU5 is launched in the market, it will be up against the likes of Xiaomi Note 5 and Redmi 5. The success of the device will depend on its pricing.
