MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor makes a silent debut in the market

Without much fanfare, MediaTek has recently launched a new Dimensity series processor. The latest MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor is a watered-down version of the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. The processor is built on the TSMC’s 4nm N4P fabrication process. Speculations are that the upcoming Vivo V27 5G will ship the mentioned MediaTek processor. It is being said that the Dimensity 7200 SoC will offer improved photography and gaming-based performance.

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor specifications

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor will start shipping with smartphones by the first quarter of 2023. The MediaTek Dimensity 7200, based on a 4nm fabrication process, clocks a frequency of 2.8 GHz. It comes with a 2+6 cluster and six Cortex-A510 cores that have a 2.0GHz frequency. The SoC also comes with a Mali-G610 graphics processing unit (GPU) similar to the Dimensity 8200 processor. It comes with support for FHD+ display and up to 144Hz refresh rate. Not only this, but the processor also supports HDR10+, Dolby HDR, and HDR. The SoC can support up to 200MP shooter at the rear panel and can also capture two video streams of FHD solutions each.

Devices that will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 will support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 internal storage. The processor supports the AI-based variable rate shading with Hyper Engine 5.0. It will also have the ability to shoot videos up to 4K 30fps. It also includes 5G sub-6GHz with up to 4.7Gbps downlink, along with 2CC Carrier Aggregation, Dual SIM 5G, etc. Connectivity options offered with the processor are tri-band WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, etc. The processor will be seen in mid-range smartphones, and it will be seen competing in the industry with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor.
