Maruti Suzuki is closer to the launch of its popular sub 4-meter SUV Brezza that you’d have thought. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza’s mid-life update has been spotted testing on multiple occasions. Most recently, the Brezza was spotted completely undisguised in what seemed to be a TV commercial shoot for the upcoming car. In this article, let us take a look at what updates we can expect from the next generation of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Let’s go!

A New Turbo-Petrol Engine In The Works?
What seems to be the biggest update expected on the new Brezza is the introduction of a 1.0L turbocharged engine which will be paired to a new 6-speed manual gearbox. This will be a three-cylinder Boosterjet engine which is already available in the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and it produces 100 PS of power with 147.6Nm of torque.
There’s also a practical financial upside here. With select variants likely to be powered by this smaller-displacement turbo engine, those variants could end up attracting lower GST, which may help keep pricing more competitive despite the added performance and tech on offer.

In case you were wondering if the current 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine and CNG options will be available after the update, those engines are not going anywhere. The existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue, alongside the CNG variant that has been a strong seller for the Brezza.
The CNG version, however, is getting a meaningful practical upgrade with an underbody-mounted CNG tank, similar to what Maruti has already introduced on the Victoris. This relocates the tank away from the boot floor, freeing up cargo space that CNG buyers have long had to compromise on.

A More Premium Cabin With A Bigger Screen
On the inside also, changes are expected. The current 9-inch infotainment display is expected to be replaced by a larger 10.1-inch unit, likely borrowed from the Victoris. This will bring the Brezza’s infotainment experience closer in line with Maruti’s newer models. Some reports suggest this could even stretch to a 10.25-inch display, depending on the final trim.
Beyond the screen, expect a redesigned dashboard layout, updated upholstery, and revised trim materials aimed at giving the Brezza’s cabin a more upmarket and premium feel. Ventilated front seats have also been mentioned in several reports, which would be a welcome addition for India’s hotter months.
Perhaps one of the most significant feature additions is the expected inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Test mules have been spotted with a radar housing integrated into the front grille, which is a strong indicator that features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking could make their way to the Maruti Suzuki Brezza for the first time. This would bring the SUV in line with rivals that have already started offering Level 2 ADAS in this segment.

Design Changes Are Subtle But Noticeable
Don’t expect a dramatically different-looking Brezza. Most of the visual updates are concentrated on the front fascia, including a redesigned grille, a reshaped fog lamp housing, a tweaked front bumper, and a thicker silver skid plate insert for a slightly tougher look. The headlamps themselves are expected to carry over largely unchanged. At the rear, expect a revised bumper, while new alloy wheel designs should help freshen up the side profile.

When Can We Expect It To Launch?
Now, this update isn’t happening in isolation. Maruti Suzuki is currently in the middle of a broader product offensive, with facelifts planned for the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, and Baleno, all expected to roll out by March 2027. Of these, the Brezza facelift is widely reported to be first in line, with the Fronx and Grand Vitara expected to follow with their own respective updates, including ADAS, hybrid options, and additional underbody CNG tanks across the lineup.
While Maruti Suzuki hasn’t issued an official confirmation yet, multiple reports point to a launch within the next couple of months, making the updated Brezza one of the more imminent arrivals on the brand’s busy product calendar. Pricing details haven’t surfaced, but given the added tech and the new turbo-petrol option, a modest increase over the current range seems likely.
