TL; DR
  • Maruti Brezza facelift units have arrived at dealerships ahead of the July 24 launch.
  • The front fascia gets reworked headlights, a new grille, and a triangular fog lamp housing.
  • A 1.0-liter BoosterJet turbo petrol engine with up to 120 PS is expected at launch.

The Maruti Brezza has been India’s most consistent sub-4-meter SUV for years, selling well without a single update since its second-generation launch. That will change on July 24, 2026, when the automaker launches its first-ever facelift.

Ahead of the official launch, the facelift units have already started arriving at dealerships, giving us our clearest look yet at what is changing. Bookings are open at ₹11,000.

What The Dealer Yard Spy Shots Show

A video shared by Abhay Sontakke shows a Brezza facelift being unloaded at a dealership ahead of the launch. The unit appears to be a lower-end variant, as it’s seen riding on steel wheels without wheel covers. Even so, the front-end changes are quite visible (and minimal).

To begin with, the headlights have been reworked (they now look sleeker), the grille is new, and the front bumper has been restyled. The fog light housing is now triangular. Lower variants are likely to retain projector halogen headlamps, while higher variants may get full LEDs. To me, the redesigned front bumper resembles the Nexon’s, at least the lower part.

The rear sees very few changes, and the same appears to be true of the cabin, though a larger touchscreen infotainment system is expected.

The Powertrain Addition That Matters Most

The bigger update, however, is under the bonnet. The Brezza facelift is expected to gain a 1.0-liter three-cylinder BoosterJet turbo petrol engine. And yes, you’ve heard about the engine before: it’s the same engine featured on the Fronx Turbo, tuned here to produce up to 120 PS.

In the Fronx, this engine produces 99 bhp and 147.6 Nm of torque. In the Brezza, the engine should be paired with a six-speed manual transmission. A torque converter automatic option may also be offered (similar to the Fronx). CNG variants could get an underbody tank to free up boot space (similar to the Victoris).
