Like us, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is also a fan of Tony Stark of Iron Man. It seems like he is so impressed from Iran Man’s virtual assistant that he decided to build one similar Jarvis for himself. Mark Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that he plans to develop an AI that can run his home and help him with his work.

Each year Zuckerberg takes on a personal challenge and for 2016, he commits to building an Artificial Assistant. “You can think of it kind of like Jarvis in Iron Man,” Zuckerberg wrote in his Facebook.

He plans to start his AI development with a basic version. “I am going to start by exploring what technology is already out there. Then I’ll start teaching it to understand my voice to control everything in our home — music, lights, temperature and so on.” the 31-year celebrity posted.

Zuckerberg also wants his system to acknowledge when his friends are standing at the door of his home and let them in. “I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell.”

In his vision of Jarvis like AI, he hopes it will help him in keeping a tab on his daughter room when he is not at home. “I’ll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max’s (his daughter’s) room that I need to check on when I’m not with her,” he said.

“This should be a fun intellectual challenge to code this for me,” Zuckerberg wrote. “I’m looking forward to sharing what I learn over the course of the year.”

In the past years, Zuckerberg has taken personal challenges included learning Mandarin and reading two books every month.

AI is going to be huge in 2016. We are already flooded with tons of reports regarding new AI startups, debates on how the whole thing needs to be regulated, and potential threats it holds for us in the future.
