A set of Google Now commands are now available offline. Being offline is a very real possibility, and it makes sense for Google Now to be able to set your alarm, call numbers from your contact book and execute other instructions that don’t require internet connectivity.

You can check the list of what Google Now can listen in offline mode in the screen-shots above. For the first time, you will have to download the English (US) language offline pack.

Just go offline and search for anything, Google Now will let you know what commands are available for offline use and also prompt you to download the valid voice pack if it is not already installed on your phone. Whenever you are online, offline instruction pack will download on your phone for whenever the need should arise.

List of offline commands:

  • Play Music
  • Open Gmail (works with any app name on the device)
  • Turn on/off Wi-Fi
  • Turn up/down the volume
  • Turn on/off the flashlight
  • Turn on/off airplane mode
  • Turn on/off Bluetooth
  • Dim the screen

For now the list of commands is pretty basic, but it’s a start. We can expect this to include a lot more as time progresses.
