LG Wing intros a novel form factor to the boring slab phone world. It’s front screen swivels, revealing a secondary display underneath. The Wing is LG’s maiden product out of its innovative Explorer project. In addition to this, the company has also teased a forthcoming product design.

Let’s see what it is and more importantly what specs and features the Wing boasts.

LG Wing Highlights

The LG Wing sports a swiveling 6.8-inch P-OLED display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. Beneath it lies a 3.9-inch FHD+ screen that you can use when the top panel is sitting horizontally (90°).

The company extolls an increase in productivity thanks to this new design. You can consume media or navigate GPS in the landscape orientation on the main screen while using the second screen for other things. It has partnered with video content platforms such as Youtube, Tubi, Rave, Ficto, etc.

Then there is the built-in Multi App feature lets you create shortcuts of app pairs, that you’d like to open simultaneously in two screens.

And, Grip-Lock, which lets you use the secondary screen as a handle by disabling accidental touches. Thus, you get to use the integrated gimbal camera (12MP F/.2 aperture, 120° ultrawide) backed by 6 motion sensors. You can also use the phone for easy video editing, timelapse control, voice bokeh, and ASMR recording. On the optics front, the Wing flaunts 64MP triple rear cameras and a 32MP pop-up camera.

Like every other unique smartphone design, the Wing also depends on its neoteric hinge mechanism. This basically involves two components ie., the Hydraulic Damper and the Thermoplastic polyoxyethylene. While the former mitigates the stress on the second screen, the latter ensures smooth friction-free rotation. LG claims the hinge mechanism has been tested for 200,000 swivels.

As for the rest of the phone, you have Snapdragon 765G (w/ 5G), Android 10, 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage, 4000mAh battery with 25W fast charger, among other things.
