Chinese smartphone maker Lenovo has stated that it will now be moving towards a stock Android interface with its upcoming smartphone, the K8 Note, that it will launch on August 9.

The K8 Note will come running stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, and initiates the company’s intention towards using near stock Android OS in all of its wares – something that it currently does with its Moto range of devices.

Earlier, Lenovo’s phones used to feature its own customary Vibe UI on the top, which was replaced with lighter Pure UI skin, retaining stock design and features, with last year’s K5 Note.

The company’s decision to move to Google’s unadulterated Android software should mark a significant improvement because as a general rule of thumb, stock software is faster, more functional and considerably lighter.

With the Android 7.1.1, users will get features such as multi-window, launch actions and improved bundled notifications in smartphones, starting with the K8 Note. Along with that, it will also offer to the users, access to various Google services, including Google Assistant.

Apart from providing a stable software platform, the company has stated its wishes to provide better support, as well as quicker and more efficient updates to its users.

Needless to say, a significant improvement such as this is certainly good news, as Lenovo seems to be adopting what works for it across all its brands.
