We will soon (as early as this week) be greeting the newest iteration of the Android OS, the Android O in its full avatar (it was earlier out as a developer preview).

This news comes courtesy David Ruddock, who is associated with Android Police, who in a tweet said that Google will now be outing the complete version of the latest Android Operating System.

The Mountain View-based company had earlier released the third and fourth preview of the Android O in the months of June and July respectively, and now is poised to bring out the full version come next week.

According to Ruddock, the update for the latest version of the Android OS would be an over the air (OTA) update, which will begin rolling out in the company’s Pixel device in the second or third week of this month.

He also said that this Android O update on Pixel smartphones is also relatively sooner than last year’s Android Nougat update on Google’s Nexus smartphones.

Also in the news are the speculations and rumors regarding what Android O would be called (since Google is known to name its Android versions after sweet delicacies). Rumors have suggested that can very well be named ‘Oatmeal Cookie’ quelling the earlier reports that put its name as ‘Oreo’.

Well, until Google lets us know its choice of name, we’ll just have to wait and contemplate as to which name’s ‘sweeter’ (bad pun?).
