After dual displays and foldable displays on laptops, we might soon have laptops with semi-transparent displays. Well, that’s what Lenovo is gonna unveil at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona.
Tipster Evan Blass has been tweeting images showing an upcoming Lenovo concept with a fully or semi-transparent display on board. As aforementioned, this laptop concept has a see-through display possibly housing a transparent OLED panel. As you can see in the renders, the display components are likely affixed in the sizable chin allowing the display to stand out fully as a semi-transparent one with minimal bezels on the sides.
If that’s not all, the bottom half of the laptop is nothing less than futuristic. You can’t see any buttons so it’s either fully touchscreen or the buttons are simply flushed with the rest of the panel. We vouch for a fully touchscreen keyboard and trackpad given the fact that it seems more logical than hiding buttons.
Unfortunately, this is probably all we know about the laptop with a semi-transparent display concept at the moment. Lenovo is expected to unveil it at the MWC 2024 and we might see the device in action hands-on as well.
The MWC 2024 is going to be huge as we already have a tonne of devices arriving during the event. There’s the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 with AMD and Intel chips, there’s the T16 Gen 3 laptop, a T14S with a notch, and a second-gen ThinkPad X12 detachable awaiting their unveiling.
