The much anticipated AI chatbot Krutim, created by the same-named Indian startup, has formally gone into public beta. With this achievement, the AI market in India has advanced significantly, putting Krutim in a competitive position against well-established players like Google’s Gemini AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Let’s look into the specifics.

Krutim Debuts the First Public Beta of its AI Chatbot in India

The first-ever domestic large language model (LLM) in India, Krutim was initially unveiled in December 2023 by Bhavish Aggarwal, who also co-founded the well-known ride-hailing service Ola. Krutim is positioned to transform digital interactions by offering users a sophisticated conversational AI experience.

Like its global counterparts, Krutim has a vast range of capabilities, it offers an extensive and enriching user experience, ranging from having in-depth and informative conversations on a variety of topics to offering informative responses derived from a vast knowledge base. Users can also anticipate a variety of creative text outputs from the AI assistant, such as code, poetry, music compositions, and email drafts.

A waitlist system is now available for those who are eager to experience Krutim’s capabilities firsthand by allowing them to participate in the public beta. Users can wait for an invitation from the Krutim team to access the beta version by going to the official Krutim website, where they can also join the waitlist by entering their email address and other required information.

Overall, users should expect possible limitations in Krutim’s functionalities and the occasional run-in with bugs or glitches, as with any beta phase. However, this offers early adopters a priceless chance to offer input that will help improve and refine Krutim’s performance going forward.

How To Test Krutrim AI Chatbot in India?

Step #2: Tap on “Try Krutim” on the landing page.

Step #3: You will be asked to enter your phone number for verification followed by an OTP that you need to provide to login.

Step #4: Henceforth, Krutrim AI Chatbot looks alike ChatGPT although with less features and limited data to generate answers from.

Step #5: Enter your prompt such as “What is ChatGPT?” and hit enter to let it generate the response.

Bingo, it’s as easy as it sounds.

Note: Although Krutrim AI promises ChatGPT-like generative AI capabilities, you should know that it is still a beta and at an initial stage. It means it may not be able to answer most of the questions such as the aformentioned when I reached out asking for an ‘ad copy’ for the prompt mentioned above. Additionally, it didn’t elaborate on how to distinguish between different varieties of apples while furnishing a vague response. However, we know that with further iterations, it will get better so stay put.
