JioGigaFiber FTTH broadband Services Announced, Registration Starts on August 15

Reliance industries telecom arm Jio has finally announced the launch of its Jio GigaFiber FTTH broadband service on Thursday. The Jio fiber-to-the-home network has been in the news for some more than a year now. At the annual general meet, Mukesh Ambani led company also shared the rollout plan for the JioFiber broadband service.

Jio will kick start registration process for the JioFiber services from August 15  across 1,100 cities simultaneously. The service can be availed by homes users, merchants, small medium enterprises and large enterprises. As per the company, claims the JioGigaFiber is the most advanced fiber-based broadband connectivity solutions.

JioGigaFber and Jio GigaTV Features

With the JioGigaFiber company is planning to convert your home to Smart Home by bundling other services like Jio GigaTV, Smart Home accessories and of course a landline connection.

For GigaTV company will provide its own GigaTV 4K media streaming box which comes bundled with a Jio JioGigaRouter. Under its smart home solution, Jio will launch its smart cameras, smart plugs, IR blasters, smoke sensors, video dongle, TV cameras and IOT devices. However, it hasn’t announced the launch and availability details of smart accessories.

Apart from these Jio also aims to enable multi-party video-conferencing and virtual-reality gaming for home users. Mukesh Ambani’s led Jio aims to connect over 50 million Indian homes via its FTTH broadband service.

Jio GigaFiber Price and Availability

On the Indian Independent day i.e on August 15, 2018, the registration for Jio Giga Fiber broadband and Jio GigaTV will commence on the MyJioapp or Jio.com. The company is yet to announce the price and plans for Jio GigaFiber broadband and Jio GigaTV.

Unlike the Jio smartphone services where it was available for one and all from the day one, this time things will be rolled out on the basis of interest received. As per Jio, localities with highest interest will be served first.

Jio Fiber service has been under trails ever since 2016. The company has been testing it’s with select users who get 100GB of monthly data for 90 days at 100Mbps speed, along with access to Jio’s suite of apps. Though these users aren’t charged for services, they do have to make a one-time refundable deposit Rs 4,500 as to avail the offer. With Jio GigaFiber, the company aims to take India to the top five fixed broadband services globally in the coming years.
