Jio effect: Airtel launches two new plans with free Disney+ Hotstar, live TV channels and more

The new bundled plans are aimed at taking on Jio’s AirFiber broadband offerings which provide multiple plan options along with complimentary access to Jio’s suite of apps and OTT services like JioCinema since its launch.

Note that both plans are now listed on Airtel’s website.

New Airtel Xstream AirFiber plans: What you get

The Rs 699 plan is the new entry-level offering, available to new customers on 6 or 12-month rentals. The plan offers 40Mbps speeds till 1000GB data usage as per fair usage policy, after which speeds are capped at 2Mbps with unlimited data.

Customers get the Airtel Xstream app access along with a Disney+ Hotstar subscription and 350 TV channels for no additional cost. Moreover, Airtel is also offering its 4K Android TV box for free with the plan. The plan can also be combined with Airtel Black postpaid plans.

The premium Rs 999 plan offers 100Mbps speeds with the same 1000GB FUP limit followed by unlimited 2Mbps data. Benefits include Airtel Xstream, Disney+ Hotstar, an Android TV box with 350 channels and bundling with Airtel Black. It is available to new users only with 6 or 12-month rentals.

These two plans supplement Airtel’s existing Rs 799 Xstream AirFiber offering which provides 100Mbps speeds and 1000GB FUP data without any OTT or live TV subscriptions.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber Rs 799 plan vs new plans: How they compare

The Rs 799 AirFiber plan has been there since the launch. It offers 100Mbps speed, along with access to the Airtel Xstream app only. That said, it does not include any other OTT benefit or live TV channels as both the newly launched ones offer. Moreover, users also don’t get the option to club this plan with the Airtel Black plan.

In terms of speed, the Rs 799 and Rs 999, both offer 100Mbps. However, the Rs 999 plan also comes with the added benefit of a free Disney+ Hotstar subscription and free Android TV 4K box.
