The iPhone SE was last refreshed in 2022, and it was a pretty underwhelming update. Now, Apple seems to be planning a major upgrade for the next iPhone SE. According to a recent leak from Ice Universe on Weibo, the iPhone SE 4th generation is set to launch between March and May of 2025 (Q2 2025).
This time, the iPhone SE 4 is rumored to sport a 6.06-inch LTPS display with a notch, reminiscent of the iPhone 13 or 14, but with a sad 60Hz refresh rate. The display will be OLED, so you can expect all the benefits of OLED, including deep blacks and vibrant colors.

Under the hood, it’s said to pack the Apple A18 chipset that will be debuting with the iPhone 16 series this September, paired with 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Ice Universe isn’t sure if it’ll be 6 GB or 8 GB, but given Apple’s recent trends with Apple Intelligence, let’s bet on 8 GB.
Camera-wise, expect a single 48 MP main shooter and a 12 MP front camera. The phone will be equipped with Face ID—yes, Face ID is finally coming to the iPhone SE. The frame will be aluminum, and Apple might use Qualcomm’s modem or its own rumored modem that’s been “coming soon” for a long time.

Apple will also be saying goodbye to the Lightning port on the SE lineup as well; the iPhone SE 4 will be USB-C powered. As for pricing, Ice Universe hints at a starting price between $499 and $549. In India, you’re looking at about ₹50,000 to ₹60,000.
