Apple launched the I Pad Pro 2021 variants in April 2021 with features like an M1 processor, 8GB or 16GB RAM, 2TB storage, a front-facing camera, and a lot more to mention here. However, the product has been officially discontinued by the brand.

The starting price of the Apple iPad Pro 2021 in India is Rs 71,899 for the 11-inch display variant and Rs 1,03,999 for the 12.9-inch variant. Similarly, the starting price of the iPad Pro 2022 11-inch display variant is Rs 81,900, and the price of the 12.9-inch display variant is Rs 1,12,900.

Starting with the display of the two, they both offer a similar 11-inch Liquid Retina display along with along with 600 nits of brightness. On the other hand, the 12.9-inch display variant of the iPad Pro 2022 offers 1600 nits of peak brightness. Not only this, but the latest generation iPad Pro also comes with a Pencil Hover. This feature by Apple allows the device to detect and interact with a pencil up to 12mm above the display. This also helps users in previewing their marks before they actually make them. The feature is going to be a boon for people who are into illustrations and use their pads for other creative aspects.

The change in chipset could be dubbed as the most prominent difference between the two. While the iPad Pro 2021 ships with an M1 processor, the iPad Pro 2022 comes with an M2 chipset. As claimed by Apple, the M2 processor offers an 18% faster CPU. 35% faster GPU and a whopping 2x boost in memory bandwidth from 50GB/s to 100GB/s. Now, we cannot say that the iPad Pro 2021 is not powerful enough to handle all the operations without any performance issues.

When it comes to battery life, both devices offer a similar level of capacity is 10 hours on average when the web is used on WiFi and 9 hours on average when the web is used via cellular data. The sensor setup is also identical, including a 12MP primary sensor and a 10MP ultra wide-angle sensor at the back. On the front, both devices have a 10MP snapper for the sake of selfies and video calls.

As it seems, the Apple iPad Pro 2022 is not that much of an upgrade over the Apple iPad 2021 Pro. So if you are looking for just a device to skyrocket your productivity with spending a little less, the Apple iPad Pro 2021 is the go-to device for you. However, if you don’t mind spending around 10,000 bucks more and getting a couple of new features, then you can surely go for the Apple iPad Pro 2022.
